Giovanni Almondo's Roero DOCG 2020 is a Nebbiolo wine that showcases the remarkable qualities of the grape variety. It is sourced, in part, from a steep vineyard that is 70 years old, resulting in an impressive offering. The wine displays a bright red color and entices with aromatic notes of spicy forest berries, accompanied by hints of orange, violet, and licorice. The Nebbiolo grapes used in this wine come from Lampia, Michet, and Picotendro vineyards. The soil composition is sandy and calcareous, consisting of 70% sand, 20% limestone, and 10% clay. The vineyards are situated at an altitude of 320 meters above sea level and benefit from a south-facing sun exposure. During the winemaking process, the grapes undergo a maceration period of 15-18 days on the skins. Following that, the wine is aged for 18 months in large casks made of non-toasted Slavonian oak. Overall, the Giovanni Almondo Roero DOCG 2020 Nebbiolo wine is highly regarded for its exceptional qualities. It delivers beyond expectations, presenting a captivating combination of flavors and aromas.
