This tasting is in the wine cellar at S&G Stockbridge. 

Wine tastings are always excellent. They are especially excellent this year for obvious reasons. But they are truly magnificent when they are with the owner and winemaker of the very wines one is tasting. Which is what we have here. 

Join us on Wednesday 30th November for an evening with Richard Bray, Founder of and winemaker at Cathar(tic) Wines based in Roussillon, France. 

If you come into the bar or are a member of the wine club or indeed simply follow us on Instagram the chances are you will have tasted or seen us posting about Richards wines. His 'Neuks 'n' Crannies' Rousanne blend & Syracha Syrah have featured heavily on our by the glass list over the past 12 months because quite simply we think they are fantastic. Richard first worked harvest in the Roussillon in 2008, splitting time between Mas Cristine in Argèles and Coume del Mas in Banyuls. In 2014 Unbound published his first book, a winemaking memoir, Salt & Old Vines. He started Cathar(tic) Wines in 2016, hoping to show a new side of the region’s fascinating terroir. In 2020 he founded GB Wine Shippers with Gus Gluck, to import his own wines as well as those from new and exciting producers in the Roussillon, Australia and around the world.

With a strong connection to Scotland having worked here for many years it is fair to say Richard is thoroughly looking forward to coming back & sharing his wines with us & we in turn are thoroughly looking forward to letting him.

We will kick things off with a glass of our favourite Sparkling Gamay (imported by Richard through his GB Wine Shippers company) then dive straight into a tasting of Richard's 4 core wines - all served alongside a selection of matched seasonal cheeses & charcuterie.

The tasting will be held downstairs in our bar in Stockbridge and will begin at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £45 per person and limited to 12 people. 

All wines will be available to order on the night.
