This tasting is in Stockbridge.
To many folk, Mendoza = Malbec. So why argue? We could (and I am sure will at some stage) point to the wonderful Chardonnay's and Bonarda's being made in the region but we'll save that for anther day. This tasting is ALL about Malbec.
Join us on Monday 5th December for an evening spent in the company of Altos Las Hormigas, producers of some of the most magnificent Malbec coming out of Mendoza today. With a Biodynamic approach in the vineyard and a minimal intervention approach in the winery these are Malbecs made to show the true character of the grape & the terroir where they were grown.
Over the course of the evening we will taste a number of their single vineyard Malbec's, exploring the role terroir & micro-climate plays in the characteristics of the wine in the bottle famous - or in their words - 'letting the land speak'.
We will also be tasting their Mendoza Tinto - a blend of Bonarda, Malbec and a small amount of Semillon, which is their interpretation of the classic Mendoza red blend that existed before winemakers started focusing on single varietals - so we will be going deep on the geography & history!
A Malbec tasting at Christmas, what could be better?
The tasting will be held upstairs in our main bar in Stockbridge and will begin at 7pm.
Tickets are £50 per person and limited to 28 people.
All wines will be available to order on the night.
